Akwaaba, welcome.
People fascinate me. Especially the African women and their culture, they are my source of inspiration.
Africa's continent is a joy for the eye. Sad enough torn apart by struggle for life, , however the other side is, hope and love. It is all reflected in the inhabitants themselves.
My big challenge is to express this all in my figures. Their stately posture, resoluteness, despite the many hardships they have to endure. To shape these figures also means a form of meditation to me. Each figure is unique, I put my heart and soul in each of them. I consider:
All people are beautiful, each face is unique. If one can give love, your whole person will radiate it. In my art this is clearly expressed, I actually try to catch the essence!
